Soft
contact lenses tend to be referred to as "disposable"
if they are replaced at intervals of one month
or less. There are many manufacturers of such
lenses, each type having properties that may
or may not suit a particular patient.
Monthly
disposable lenses cost around £23.50
per month.
Some
soft lenses, which are individually produced
and designed for up to one year's use, are
generally easier to handle being somewhat
more sturdy in design. The monthly charge
for these lenses is about the same as monthly
disposable lenses although for one pair in
the year instead of 12.
Between daily disposables (£41.50 a month
if you wear them every day) and yearly custom
lenses there is a range of possibilities to
suit the varying requirements of different
wearers.
Our
monthly charges include the cost of the lenses,
full aftercare consultation fees and insurance.
Solutions for all the above lens types cost
about £5.00 per month. Fees for the
initial fitting vary according to the type
of lens and the experience and requirements
of the patient. The amount will be advised
at the first consultation.
