Vision
Recently
there has been increasing interest in the role
vision plays in sport. Seeing things clearly
is important if you are a serious sportsperson,
but there is much more to vision than reading
letters on a chart.
Most sports require precise tracking of objects
across the field of vision, good peripheral
vision, differentiating subtle colour and contrast
variations, depth perception, speed and endurance
of focussing, fast fixation relocation and many
other aspects.
At
cameronoptometry, we combine a love
for sport with our knowledge and expertise
on the visual system to bring you a complete
SportsVision service.
For £75 (discounted for current patients)
you can enjoy the benefit's of an individually
tailored SportsVision consultation. This begins
with a comprehensive eye examination and analysis
of your sport, it's specific visual challenges
and your own personal achievement goals.
Then we carry out a battery of tests which
are specifically designed to examine your
visual system's current status and potential
in your specific sport. Your optometrist will
then outline the results of all the tests
and discuss in detail your options for maximising
your vision in sport.
Recent
research indicates as much as 25% of top professional
sports people do not make the most of their
visual potential. Uncorrected visual problems.
At
cameronoptometry, we're passionate
about helping people play sport to the best
to their ability at whatever level they want
to: from fun football with a few friends through
amateur club tennis right up to international
professional rugby. We know about eyes and
we know about sport - let us help you achieve
your potential.
Nike
MaxSIGHT sport tinted contact lenses
We are one of only a handful on practices
approved to work with the new Nike MaxSIGHT
sport tinted contact lenses. We have combined
our proven expertise in contact lenses and
our passion for sport to provide this revolution
in SportsVision technology.
Light
entering the eye is composed of a number of
different wavelengths. Shorter wavelengths
are focussed in front of the retina causing
visual noise (blur), reduced contrast.
The
Light Architecture optics of Nike MaxSIGHT
selectively filter the light reaching the
retina blocking much of the blue wavelengths.
Light is focussed in a tighter range; visual
noise reduced (by more than 50%) and clarity
and contrast enhanced.
These
lenses are available in 2 designs specialised
for different types of sport. They lenses
are currently being used by Marco Materazzi
(Inter Milan Football Club) etc. Anybody playing
sport particularly in bright light should
find a benefit from using these lenses.
