Contact lenses to help monitor diabetes

Scientists at the University of Bath have been awarded a £120,000 grant to research and develop contact lenses that could be used to warn diabetics of dangerous blood sugar levels.

The lenses use a form of hologram technology to sense glucose levels in the wearer's tear film.
