Eye condition costs casino mogul £74m
A Las Vegas casino tycoon has had to cancel the proposed sale of a painting after he elbowed a small hole in Picasso's masterpiece 'La Reve' . Steve Wynn had arranged to sell the piece for £74m but while showing the painting to guests in his office and gesturing effusively, his right elbow bumped the picture tearing a coin sized hole. Mr Wynn has blamed in part his eye condition, Retinitis Pigmentosa which affects peripheral vision. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a terrible ripping noise as Mr Wynn exclaimed "Look what I've done. Thank goodness it was me!". Mr Wynn plans to keep the painting and have it repaired.
