Possible stem cell cure for AMD

At London's 'Cure for AMD' Project, researchers have said they believe a cure for AMD is just five years away. Initial trials, which have seen surgeons inject stem cells into the retina, have successfully restored sight in a handful of patients. The project is now looking for volunteers to take part in further clinical trials. It's hoped that this new development will provide a cure for both the 'wet' and 'dry' forms of AMD.
