Special specs help the deaf to hear
Special spectacles that turn speech into sign language have been developed by a German design student. The wearable device, 'Senjo' which is still in concept form, aims to help the deaf communicate with hearing people. Cameras and sensors record visual sign language, which is then converted into spoken language. But the device also works in reverse converting spoken language into sign language using speech recognition: words are then made into visual signs that are projected onto the specially designed glasses.
