Meet the Team: Jane Johnston

Jane first began working in eye care in 1992, but then stepped out of optics, going on to build a career across various roles within the rail industry.

She later returned to education, completing a degree in psychology at Queen Margaret University. After graduating, Jane came back to optics, initially as a short-term step, but quickly rediscovered her passion for the profession and has been part of the Cameron Optometry team ever since.

Jane typically wears contact lenses but always keeps a pair of glasses as a backup. When she does choose frames, comfort is key, with a preference for lightweight, understated styles from brands such as Lindberg and SALT.

Her advice to patients is simple and practical. If you have an eye emergency, please call the practice. If you are experiencing discomfort, taking your usual over-the-counter pain relief can help while you arrange to be seen.

What Jane enjoys most about her role is the team. The practice is a place where people work hard, support one another, and genuinely enjoy spending time together, both in and out of work.
