FBDO | Dispensing Optician | Frame Buyer | Marketing & Events
Amy joined the team eight years ago and is a qualified Dispensing Optician holding the ABDO Ophthalmic Dispensing Diploma. Her role is wonderfully multifaceted. Not only does she dispense, but she’s also deeply involved in frame buying, marketing, and event planning for the practice.
She regularly attends international trade shows (including SILMO Paris) to ensure our frame collections are always fresh, stylish, and a cut above what you’ll find on the high street. Amy is also involved in curating the unique look and feel of the practice’s eyewear range.
In addition to her dispensing work, Amy is trained in:
✔️Dispensing Myopia Control Lenses (such as Hoya Miyosmart)
✔️Using the Colorimetry technology to support patients with visual stress
✔️She has also written case records for NHS training programmes on problem-solving in complex dispensing cases.
✔️And if that wasn’t enough, she also has an English degree!
Favourite style: Retro-inspired aviators with a double bar. Her current favourites are a striking yellow and brown Anne et Valentin pair.
Top tip: Have a high prescription? Choosing a smaller lens size helps keep your lenses thinner and lighter.
Best part of the job: When a bold, quirky frame that seemed like a ‘risky buy’ ends up being the one for a patient. Watching someone embrace something different is so rewarding.
