We are delighted to welcome not one but two, new members of staff to our team at Cameron Optometry. Amy McIntosh and Ciara Lawson join in similar roles. Both will be found front-of-house, welcoming patients to the practice, assisting with pre-screening and supporting the team in our eyewear boutique.
Amy recently graduated with a degree in english and film and combined her studies with her sales role at handbag designer Mulberry on Multrees Walk, so is used to advising customers, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones. Patients are already benefiting from her style guidance as they select their new eyewear from the boutique. She is looking forward to learning more about the eyewear industry and has a particular interest in independent fashion designers so will play a valuable role as we develop our frame room further. Here we get to know Amy a little better.
She describes her personal style as eclectic, unexpected, yet minimal and adores everything French, with her favourite eyewear brand being Anne et Valentin. Asked about whose style she admires, she said, “Jeanne Damas, creator of the French fashion brand Rouje always wears such classic pieces. I also love Spanish fashion designer Maria Bernad, and I can’t not mention Jane Birkin and Anna Karina circa 1960/70s too. Karina’s round, bold glasses she sometimes wore are a style I still love, and would wear today.”
Alongside Amy, we welcome Ciara, who has experience in the care industry, having completed her studies in health and social care, and also has valuable retail experience. Ciara describes her personal style as classic, bright and comfortable. And her favourite eyewear brand is Italian designer, Feb31st. “I love Feb31st because they look and feel great. The natural materials are super comfortable to wear and I love that every pair of frames are totally unique, allowing you to add your own personal touches like a flash of colour and inscription.”
Ciara takes inspiration from Jennifer Aniston who never goes out of style with her timeless, classic look, something she also looks for in her eyewear choices. New to the eye care industry she is looking forward to using her skills to develop her role at Cameron Optometry. “I’m excited to develop my experience in high end retail, and use my experience in care to provide support to the patients at Cameron Optometry. I’ve loved my time here so far. It’s a friendly environment and everyone has been very welcoming.”
Cameron Optometry managing director, Ian Cameron, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome two enthusiastic people to the team. Amy and Ciara have already brought a lot to the practice and their thirst for knowledge is admirable. They are set to add a great deal to both the clinical side of the practice assisting the team of optometrists, alongside their roles in eyewear boutique as they support the dispensing team.”
Welcome Amy and Ciara.
