Eve Swinton

Optometrist

In early 2025, we welcomed optometrist Eve Swinton to the Cameron Optometry team. Eve brings a fresh perspective to the practice, and we’ve already been impressed by her experience and clinical approach.

She studied optometry at Glasgow Caledonian University and completed her pre-registration year in Edinburgh. During the pandemic, Eve worked in emergency eye care, gaining invaluable experience in managing a wide range of eye conditions. While based on the Isle of Wight, she combined clinical practice with further study, earning both her Professional Certificate in Medical Retina and her Independent Prescribing Diploma.

In 2024, she returned to Edinburgh to take on the role of advanced clinical research optometrist in the glaucoma department at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, a position she continues to hold alongside her work at Cameron Optometry.

A warm, friendly people-person, Eve thrives on building relationships with her patients and making a meaningful difference in their lives. She also enjoys the variety and challenges her role brings.

Outside of work, Eve is a talented artist, expressing her creativity through ceramics, painting, and drawing. She’s also an enthusiastic runner and cyclist, currently training for the Spartan Half Marathon Challenge later this year. We’re sure it won’t be long until she’s roped into the next team running challenge at the practice.
