Louise Creighton
Qualifications: BSc.(Hons) MCOptom
Louise Creighton is an experienced optometrist with a particular specialist interest in visual stress and contact lenses. She joined Cameron Optometry in 2024 after spending 13 years in practice with Black and Lizars, where she built a strong reputation for clinical excellence and was awarded Optometrist of the Year in 2018.
Louise graduated with a first class BSc Honours degree in Optometry from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2009 and has worked in eye care for more than 15 years. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive experience in assessing and managing visual stress, an area in which she has over a decade of focused clinical practice. She regularly supports patients whose visual symptoms affect reading, comfort, and day to day visual performance, and takes a careful, individualised approach to assessment and management.
Alongside her interest in visual stress, Louise provides comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens care for adults and children. She is currently undertaking hospital placements as part of her training toward the Independent Prescribing qualification, further strengthening her ability to manage eye disease and deliver joined up clinical care.
Louise particularly enjoys working with neurodiverse patients, both children and adults, and is known for her calm, patient centred manner. She takes time to build rapport and adapt her examination style to suit individual needs, helping patients feel at ease and supported during their eye examinations.
Originally from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland, Louise now balances her clinical work with family life, caring for her two young children. When she has time to herself, she enjoys painting and drawing and is an avid reader of science fiction novels.
