Sophie Andrew

Qualifications: FBDO (final year) | Level 5 SCQF Certificate in Optical Practice Support

The newest member of our dispensing team, Sophie, grew up in Melbourne, Australia and moved to Edinburgh in 2019 where she has quickly settled.

After graduating with a degree in theatre production and stage management, she spent many years in customer-facing roles. With a passion for working with people, as well as the appeal of working with independent, family-run businesses, she was delighted when the role at Cameron Optometry came up. She’s quickly learning about the world of optics and loves seeing patients achieve corrected vision, sometimes for the first time in a decade.

Sophie is in her final year of her FBDO degree with ABDO College and already brings four years of experience at Cameron Optometry to her work. She holds a Level 5 SCQF Certificate in Optical Practice Support and has completed specialist training with Hoya on their innovative MiyoSmart lenses.

An avid knitter, she also loves being outdoors hiking and running, as well as trying out new restaurants in Edinburgh.
